The eco-adventure park, formerly known as Parrot Jungle, has reopened in Miami, FL, after Hurricane Irma destroyed the park. Jungle Island is located on the waters of the Miami River. The island has a view of downtown Miami, and a variety of slides, riptide rapids, and obstacle courses. There’s also a climbing wall and a special Summer Savings Ticket that gives you a discount. However, the park was closed during Hurricane Irma. Until further notice, you’ll be able to see the animals and explore the park in a more relaxing way.

The park opened in 1936 as Parrot Jungle, which was later renamed to Jungle Island. It closed in 1992 due to Hurricane Andrew, and reopened as Jungle on the same name in 2007. The park was one of the first attractions in Miami, and was named after its founder, Franz Scherr, who was knowledgeable about exotic birds. While visiting Jungle Island, you should plan to spend at least one day there. The SuperFlight is open from 11 am to 5 pm daily. From November to February, it hosts Luminosa, a time-bound exhibition. Every night during this festival, a Chinese lantern festival takes place, beginning at 5 pm and ending at 10 pm. There are also plenty of attractions and restaurants on the island, including the Flow Rider wave machine and Flying Squirrel indoor trampoline park.

Jungle Island is one of the first attractions in Miami. It includes dozens of exotic birds, live animals, and interactive experiences. The park was once referred to as Parrot Jungle.
